Carol Burney Lewis is a partner in the Los Angeles office of Meserve, Mumper & Hughes LLP. Her areas of practice include general business litigation, bad faith insurance and construction litigation. She has extensive experience in multi-party litigation involving fraud, unfair competition and related business torts.
Ms. Burney Lewis is a member of the California State Bar and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Central, Southern, Northern and Eastern Districts of California and the United States Court of Appeal, Ninth Circuit. Ms. Burney Lewis is a member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of California and Los Angeles County Bar Association.
Ms. Burney Lewis co-authored the article "Recent Developments in ERISA Litigation."
Ms. Burney Lewis received her undergraduate degree from the University of Rochester in 1984 and her Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School in 1987. During law school, she served as an extern to the Honorable Cruz Reynoso, Associate Justice of the California Supreme Court. She has been admitted to practice in California since 1987.
